Curation

I have a broad experience with artefact and history record collections, and museology formed part of my Anthropology studies. As a volunteer service I curated several exhibitions at the Boggo Road Gaol Museum (including ‘The Gallows of Boggo Road’, ‘Life in Boggo’, ‘100 Not Out: A century of escapes from Boggo Road’, and ‘A Time to Build’). My ‘Clink Ink’ display about prison-made tattoo machines featured at the Anthropology Museum, University of Queensland. I have also installed several displays about prison and cemetery history in various Brisbane City Council libraries.

I collated and registered hundreds of loose and previously-unregistered artefacts at the Boggo Road Gaol prior to 2006 to create the Queensland Prisons Collection, which was an important factor in the establishment of the Queensland Prisons Museum. I also initiated and assembled the Friends of South Brisbane Cemetery Library, bringing together hard copy material and establishing the framework for a digital archive of historical records.
